Financial Analyst

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted April 2, 2018.

The facility, located in Port-Daniel-Gascons, Gaspésie, is one of the largest industrial developments in Quebec. The Company’s mission is to provide its customers with high quality cement, manufactured and distributed in a way that respects the ecosystem, while putting the local economy first.

We are searching for a bilingual team player, with excellent soft skills, who will join our finance team. The Financial analyst will be responsible for the following:

Active participation in month-end, quarter-end and fiscal year-end activities

Financial analysis of the accounts and management of the fixed assets register

Production of the monthly consolidated financial statements and monthly internal reports

Preparation of the quarterly and annual external consolidated financial statements according to IFRS

Preparation of the statutory financial statements and other supporting documents for the group’s tax returns

Analysis of new IFRS standards and support their application

Preparation of the group’s financial expenses and income budget

Contribution to the optimization and updating of financial processes, including internal controls and to the development and improvement of financial management systems (SAP) and existing tools

Responsible for producing the required information for the external auditors

Filling of monthly GST/HST and QST sales tax returns

 

University degree in accounting or business administration, concentration in professional accounting

CPA designation

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting firm or similar role

Basic knowledge of the main accounting cycles (payable, invoicing, pay, fixed assets)

Excellent organizational skills and effective management of personal and team priorities

Autonomy, initiative, adaptability, ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment and to meet established deadlines

Demonstrate rigor and attention to details

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word…etc.) and experience with SAP (an advantage)

Bilingualism is required (French/English – oral/written)

Overall vision and increased analytical capacity
