Finance Director


This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted January 7, 2019.

Our client, a public financial service company, located in Montreal, is looking for a Director finance.

Reporting to the chief financial officer (CFO), you will have to perform the following tasks:

Financial statement preparation in accordance with IFRS- annual/quarterly;Preparation of the MD&A;Consolidation of foreign subsidiaries-quarterly;Preparation of subsidiary financial statements – monthly;Preparation of annual budget and related variance analysis;Preparation of monthly reporting package;Preparation of management and board presentations;Manage shareholder requests (exercise of options/warrants etc.);Research and analysis of new IFRS pronouncements impacting the organization;Coordinate/facilitate the external audit;Supervise and support a team of 3-4 professional accountants;Manage cash management/treasury process;Oversee US and CAN tax return preparation and co-ordination with external auditors;Coordinate with US and CAN government authorities;Responsible for evaluating and implementation of an ERP system;Payroll processing and administration of employee group benefit plan;Management of AP systems;Responsible to maintain and implement internal controls as required;Ad hoc projects and tasks.


CPA designation. Financial Statement & MD&A preparation.A minimum of five (5)years work experience, preferably in the financial sector;Experience working in the financial services Industry;Has worked for a multi-national with an operation in multiple countries;Experience working in a fast paced, high growth environment;Experience with ERP Systems and implementation.;Experience managing various roles and responsibilities at a time;Thorough knowledge of IFRS applicable to a publicly traded company;Strong knowledge of MS-Suite, including Excel, MS-Word and Power Point (with particularly strong skills in Excel);Knowledge of ERP Systems and Simply Accounting;Strong leader with an ability to gain respect of colleagues in rapid fashion;Experienced supervising a small team;Strong written and oral communication skills;Detailed oriented and self-driven. Well organized;Able to navigate through complex accounting process; able to recommend changes to process;Can work well independently and as part of a team;Strong work ethic with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;Bilingual.
