National Bank Trust’s institutional client service offers business solutions to various levels of government and public sectors as well as enterprises of all sizes. We have built up solid expertise in dealing with pension plans, investment companies, foundations, mutual funds, government agencies, financial institutions and religious communities.

Our mandate is to provide peace of mind to our clients by offering easy and efficient turnkey services to allow them to focus on the essentials: their organization’s mission.

Over the past two years, National Bank Trust has prioritized a technology upgrade project to benefit our clients. This large-scale project is aimed at improving the services offered to our clients and portfolio managers by providing them access to Global Office-a new accessible and intuitive digital platform. A progressive migration has already begun and all of our clients should have access to this platform by next year. This project involves several key stakeholders including the Advisor, Institutional Services. (internaly, thisposition title is Associate, Institutional services)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Institutional Services, the Associate, Institutional Services acts as a trusted professional to clients and provides quality service and support that is tailored to clients’ needs.

What will your day-to-day tasks be?

  • Support account managers in identifying opportunities when analyzing client files and drafting proposals.
  • Support the Manager, Institutional Services by prioritizing and carrying out complex and diverse administrative file activities
  • Perform holistic impact analysis of client structure changes that require the resolution of taxation, compliance, accounting and operational issues (mergers, restocking, transfers, mutual fund trust launches, disposition of mutual funds, etc.) and implement solutions tailored to the context.
  • Perform cross-sector integration of international portfolio managers.
  • Orchestrate international tax audits with our partners and management teams for clients with complex mandates.
  • Analyze and implement undefined solutions (process via external industry-recognized system [ e.g., Fundserv], fund transfer, etc.) to support clients.
  • Perform various complex administrative and client service activities independently according to established policies, standards and procedures
  • Carry out regular file administration activities by offering professional, courteous service.
  • Conduct checks and analyses to ensure the accuracy of data and operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Very good knowledge of institutional services, custody of securities and expertise related to negotiation and settlement of securities on domestic and international markets
  • Influential leadership, initiative and rigour
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • Strong sense of priorities that maximize business value for clients and the organization
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)
