ROLE: Entrepreneurial & Family Office (EFO) ACCOUNTANT

PURPOSE: The EFO Accountant is responsible for learning and applying their technical and administrative skills and working as part of a team carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision.



  • Detailed bookkeeping knowledge with a min. 3 – 5 years of full-time related work experience
  • Have some experience with accounting software ie.) Sage, QuickBooks, QBO, Tax Prep, Quicken & Caseware;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office;
  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset;
  • MUST have a certificate in bookkeeping or related studies;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of administrative tax matters
  • Possesses technical accounting knowledge with experience using different accounting software
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to growing your knowledge of the firm’s products and services in this practice area, and aspiring to progress to managerial responsibilities in this practice area in the future.


  • Ability to apply self to learning and applying technical skills.
  • Interest in business and commercial affairs.

  • Maintain and updating accounting records up to trial balance (i.e. journal entries, bank reconciliations, contacting government for various filing issues, preparing QST/GST returns, and filing of payroll remittances.;
  • Assisting the accounting department with various client needs;
  • Follow up with clients in accordance with established procedures;
  • Prepare various accounting summaries and reports;
  • Ability to resolve errors and discrepancies;
  • Ability to meet deadlines 
  • Displays an understanding of the business and the Accountant role.
  • Displays technical skills both on the job and through formal learning channels.
  • Works as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks.
  • Builds working relationships with clients.
  • Seeks to gain knowledge of client businesses.
  • Effectively documents work.
  • Plans for and meets reporting deadlines.
